A collapsed drain underground is one of those problems that doesn't announce itself with a lot of fanfare. Slow drains, gurgling sounds, maybe a backup here and there - and then one day you're looking at a major excavation job. That's exactly what we were dealing with here.

We dug down to expose the failed section of drain line running along the foundation. Once we had eyes on it, we replaced the collapsed pipe and bedded the new line in clean gravel. That gravel bed isn't just filler - it supports the pipe, promotes drainage around the line, and helps prevent the kind of soil shifting that causes pipes to fail in the first place.

On top of the repair itself, we added directional cleanouts. Two of them, positioned right at the foundation wall. Here's why that matters - without cleanouts, any future service call means either running a snake from inside the house or digging again. With these in place, a plumber can access the line directly from outside, quickly, without tearing anything apart. It's a small addition that saves a significant amount of time and money down the road.

This kind of work ties directly into what we do with leak detection and slab leak services. Getting in there, identifying what actually failed, and fixing it the right way - that's the whole job.
